Prof. Pavel Raykerus

Pavel Raykerus, graduated from the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of honored artist of Russia, Professor Alexander Sandler). He also trained at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden, Germany. He is a multiple winner and laureate of numerous prestigious international piano contests. Pavel made recordings and broadcasts on CDs, radio “Russia”, radio “St- Petersburg”, TV channels “St-Petersburg 5”, Deutsche Welle, SWR (Sued-West Rundfunk).


Mr. Raykerus has been the first performer of numerous works by contemporary young Russian and foreign composers. He regularly appears at St Petersburg’s most illustrious venues, among them the Great and Small Halls of the Shostakovich Philharmonic, the Mariinsky Theatre and others. In Moscow, he has performed at the Great and Small Halls of the Moscow Conservatoire, the Tchaikovsky Great Concert Hall of Moscow Philharmonic and others.


The pianist frequently tours abroad. He has appeared at the Louisiana Museum Concert Hall (Copenhagen), Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, the Musikhalle and the Thalia Theater in Hamburg, Dresden’s Sepmeroper, the Konzerthaus in Berlin, Paris Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic, Prag’s Rudolfinum, Alhambra Concert hall in Geneva, Bilbao Concert hall, the Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik as well as numerous venues in Denmark, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, France, Finland, The Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, China, South Korea, the USA and other countries.


Pavel Raykerus devotes much of his time to chamber music with various ensembles. At various time his partners were such acclaimed maestri and talented musicians as Viktor Tretyakov (violin), Sergei Roldugin (cello), Ilya Ioff (violine), Alexey Ludevig (viola), Olesya Petrova (mezzo-soprano), Sergey Antonov (cello), Nikolas Valentin (violine), in duet with famous Russian pianist Peter Laul, and many others.


Pianist collaborates with many Russian and foreign orchestras in Europe and Asia, including such renowned as Mariinsky Symphony Orchestra, St-Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, St-Petersburg State Academic Symphony, Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic Orchestra, Faroe Symphony Orchestra and many others. He performed as a soloist with such conductors as Valeri Gergiev, Vassily Sinaisky, Nikolaj Znaider, Walter Proost, Jesus Medina, Hobart Earl, Alexander Sladkovsky, Vladislav Chernushenko and others.


Pavel Raykerus has taken part in major international festivals in Russia and abroad including Arts Square, Prag Spring, Mariinsky International Piano Festival, Dubrovnik International Summer Festival, the Liszt Kunstfest in Weimar, Young Euro Classic among others.


In June 2006 he was specially invited by the Kennedy Center (USA) as the only representative of Russia’s higher music education establishments at the XLV annual International Achievement Summit, which was held in Los Angeles (USA).


Since 2005 Pavel Raykerus taught in various musical institutions in Russia, South Korea and China. His pupils include prize-winners at Russian and international piano competitions. Currently Pavel Raykerus is professor of piano at the College of Chinese & ASEN Arts (CCAA), Chengdu, China. He gives master- classes in Russia and abroad.
