CCAA News (Photo by Yang Han, Written by Liu Aoxiang, Executive Editor: Zhou Xiaoji) At 9:00 a.m. on May 20, the activity launch ceremony of "Describing the Party's History by One Hundred of Painters with One Hundred of Paintings" jointly held by the General Party Branch of the School of Fine Arts and Design and the General Party Branch of the School of Marxism of the College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts (CCAA) was held in the first teaching building of the college. Su Bo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of Commission for Discipline Inspection of the college, and Wang Xiaojun, Member of the Standing Party Committee, Vice President and Executive Dean of CCAA were present at the launch ceremony.
Su Bo said in his speech that this activity, proactively held by two schools, was not only a useful exploration for innovatively carrying out the Party's history learning and education, but also an effective measure making the Party's history learning and education be integrated into education and teaching work closely. He expressed his hope that teachers should provide careful guidance while students should devote themselves to innovation, so as to keep the splendid development course of a century-old endeavor of the Communist Party of China in mind deeply, study and inherit the great spirit molded from the long-term struggle process of the Communist Party of China, and profoundly understand the valuable experience of how the Communist Party of China successfully promoted the revolution, construction and reform when being deeply involved in the creation of works with the theme of the Party's history. He hoped that all teachers and students could practically achieve the goal of distinguishing between right and wrong, boosting self-confidence, advocating morality, and being diligent in action by learning history, especially focus on the "541" development goal put forward by the Opinion on Promoting the Development of Chengdu University as a Domestic First-class Application-oriented City University with Distinctive Characteristics as printed and distributed by the municipal Party committee and municipal government, think positively, act proactively, dare to bear, raise up spirit, build ideological consensus, firmly develop confidence, and fully demonstrate the sense of being master, so as to contribute wisdom and strength as required to our goal of building a domestic first-class application-oriented city university with distinctive characteristics at an early date.
At the activity ceremony, the two school leaders, Su Bo and Wang Xiaojun jointly wrote as the first for this activity. As declared by Wang Xiaojun, the activity on "Describing the Party's History by One Hundred of Painters with One Hundred of Paintings" started officially.
The activity was hosted by Zhou Xiaoji, Secretary of the Party Committee of CCAA, who introduced the situation of the Party's history learning and education carried out by three general Party branches and subordinate Party branch under the united leadership of the Party committee of CCAA. In addition, she stressed that all the teachers and students of CCAA should fulfill their mission of drawing a portrait for the era as well as the people by making use of art, and also eulogize the Party as well as our great motherland through colorful forms of artistic presentation. All the teachers and students were expected to learn the Party's history seriously and carry out artistic creation with true feelings in the following month for the purpose of presenting a wonderful theme works exhibition in the end of June through best efforts.
Hu Zhonghao, Deputy Secretary of the General Party Branch of the School of Fine Arts and Design, reported the situation on implementation of learning and education of the Party's history by the two schools with the theme of Planning Carefully, Deploying All-roundly, and Deepening and Substantiating Learning and Education of the Party's History Solidly. He said that through the activity of "Describing the Party's History by One Hundred of Painters with One Hundred of Paintings" jointly organized by the School of Fine Arts and Design and the School of Marxism, the educational function of ideological and political course was fully realized and the Party's history learning was therefore integrated in course teaching. A total of more than 100 teachers and students participated the activity, 100 paintings were painted by taking 100 Party's historical stories in different periods and different fields over the 100 years since the founding of the Chinese Communist Party as the theme, the Party's course of struggle and glorious history were reviewed, and great achievement and notable success in the new era were eulogized.
Zhao Hao, a professor from the School of Fine Arts and Design, from the perspective of faculty adviser in design major, analyzed how to really embody "being diligent in action by learning history" by taking advantage of his own specialty. Lai Jing, a teacher from the School of Marxism, expressed the effectiveness and innovativeness of this activity by combining the Party's history learning and education with specialty from the point of ideological and political course.
Student representatives including Zhao Chunyan, He Liting, Zhu Siqi and Zhou Yuqiang, shared their own process of creation, expressed college students' thoughts in the new era during the Party's history learning and education process, and their strong feelings of loving the Party, love the country and loving the socialism through the harvest from the Party's history learning and education while combining major study.
Leaders, and teachers and student representatives from the headmaster's office, organization department, propaganda department, student affairs department, and the School of Fine Arts and Design and the School of Marxism of CCAA also participated in the activity.
