When the shimmer of the Danube flows through the piano keys, a musical feast rich with Eastern European romance will elegantly unfold in the Concert Hall of the Chengdu ASEAN Arts Center at Chengdu University. Distinguished pianist Phu Konantakool will perform a series of classic masterpieces with exceptional artistry, guiding the audience on a spiritual journey through European music, where passionate emotion, refined technique, and sublime artistic vision converge. This is not only a display of superb skill but also a cross-cultural dialogue of the soul — a chance to savor the vast poetic landscapes within the rise and fall of the black and white keys.

Program & Artists 

Phu Koanantakool

Thai pianist Phu Koanantakool began his piano studies at the age of 17. He graduated from the Mozarteum University Salzburg, the Lausanne Conservatory, and the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, studying under masters such as Gereon Kleiner, J.F. Antonioli, and P. Paleczny. In 2010, he gained recognition as the first Thai pianist to perform the complete Chopin 24 Études, and in 2022, he set another milestone by performing the full set of Liszt 12 Transcendental Études. His performances have taken him to Austria, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Belgium, Russia, and beyond. In 2023, he founded and has since served as Artistic Director of the Thailand International Piano Festival in Bangkok, continuing to promote the exchange and development of classical music.

Venue Guidelines

  1. The concert hall recommends arriving at least 30 minutes before the performance. To avoid delays during bag storage, please avoid bringing bags or large items. Small bags may be stored at the cloakroom before entry. Dangerous items, snacks, and beverages are not permitted.

  2. A strict one-person-one-ticket policy with assigned seating is enforced. Please do not change seats. Free admission is granted upon ticket verification.

  3. To maintain a pleasant environment for all guests, children under 7 years old are not admitted.

  4. Please silence or turn off mobile phones during the performance. Flash photography is prohibited. If you must use your phone, please minimize screen brightness.

  5. Professional photography or video recording equipment is not allowed.

  6. Entry after the performance begins is not permitted. Latecomers may be admitted during program breaks or intermission at staff discretion.

  7. Please refrain from leaving your seat during the performance. If necessary, exit between pieces or during intermission.
