On May 10, 2019, the finals of the 32nd Chengdu University Volleyball League was played, and the team from the International Department of the College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts (CCAA) 2-3 defeat School of Mechanical Engineering, won the second of the game.

The 32nd Chengdu University Volleyball League was approved by the sports committee of Chengdu University and organized by the volleyball association of Chengdu University. A total of 16 teams and more than 200 athletes participated in the competition. The International Department of the CCAA sent 12 athletes from Malaysia, Laos, Thailand and Serbia.

On April 28, the International Department of the CCAA defeat the College of Pharmacy and Biological Engineering won the competition with 2-1. In the group stage on May 6, the International Department of the CCAA defeat and won the School of Tourism and Culture Industry and the College of Information Science and Engineering and enter the quarter-final with the first place in the group.

On May 8, we successfully won the College of Medicine (School of Nursing) in the crossmatch. The semi-finals on May 9th will once again face off against the school of pharmacy and bioengineering. The match is crucial because it will determine the two teams' chances to advance to the finals. Following the last group match, the players in the International Department of CCAA are full of confidence in this competition. After a round of competition, the International Department of CCAA won the College of Pharmacy and Biological Engineering again with 2-0, and entered the final!

From the group match to the knockout match, the performance of the International Department of CCAA is fantastic. For the first time participate in the competition and went into the final as a dark horse of the year, it’s really impressive! The performance of the players on the court also amazed the audiences.

In the final match against the School of Mechanical Engineering on May 10, the players went all out to win the match, and the cheers from the audience never stopped. In the finals, the International Department of CCAA and the School of Mechanical Engineering tied the overall score at 2-2, dragging the finals into the final round. Despite losing 15-13 and missing out on a victory, the morale of the players and supporters of the International Department of CCAA remained high. Everyone gives the biggest applause to all the players, all the players also hand in hand together to thank all the supporters who arrived.

The match was a glorious failure! Through this competition, both the players and supporters have embodied the sportsmanship and team spirit of the International Department of CCAA. Although they lost the game, they gained friendship and respect. Irene Chiong Lee Ling, captain of the volleyball team, said the goal of next year's competition is to win the championship.
