School leaders Wang Xiaojun, Peng Jixiang, Zhou Xiaoji, Huang Xianzheng, and the entire leadership team of the School of Film and Animation attended the appointment ceremony.
Yu Junjian expressed a heartfelt welcome to Zhou Xing for accepting the offer from the College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts. He pointed out that Zhou Xing is an education expert in drama, film, and television majors in China and a well-known scholar in the film and television academia, with sweeping influence across China. He considered that Zhou Xing's engagement would significantly benefit the school's growth of the film and television disciplines, professional connotation construction, and the research on significant academic issues. He hoped that everyone would work together to establish a high-quality college, promote "ASEAN" artistic characteristics, and better execute and serve China's "Belt and Road Initiative."
Zhou Xing thanked Mr. Yu for his warm invitation. He said that the College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts is built on a solid hardware basis and offers ideal school-running conditions. Currently, the cinema and television disciplines and majors at the school have developed their distinct characteristics. He noted that, on the one hand, the school should develop the film and television disciplines and majors with a farsighted and broad view, give priority to the construction of the disciplines, academics, and discourse system of film and television with Chinese characteristics; On the other hand, the school should emphasize ideological politics and inheritance, integrate the ideological and political elements of disciplines into the fundamental task of moral construction and talent development, and then establish a foothold in the local community to serve the locals, refining and elevating the school's unique characteristics and connotations through service to the locals.
