To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the China-EU Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and deepen dialogue and mutual learning between civilizations, the 2025 International Cultural and Art Exchange Festival themed "Art Without Borders · China-EU Symbiosis", hosted by College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts, was successfully held from October 28 to November 21. As an annual grand event, this festival focused on China-EU cultural and artistic fields, and successfully built a cross-regional and cross-cultural dialogue platform through a series of high-end and diverse activities.
Over the nearly one-month period, the festival featured an "International Day", 4 masterclasses, 3 art workshops, 7 themed concerts, 2 in-depth lectures and 2 fine art exhibitions. Covering multiple fields including music, fine arts and academic seminars, it fully demonstrated the unique charm and strong cohesion of art as a "universal language" in connecting different civilizations. Nine internationally renowned experts, scholars and artists from Ecuador, Indonesia, Thailand, the Republic of Korea, Russia, Estonia, Germany, Serbia and Cyprus participated with great enthusiasm, conducting in-depth interactions and exchanges with over a thousand participants, including distinguished guests, teachers, students and art lovers.
This festival strived to explore and unleash the enormous potential of China and the EU in cultural and artistic fields. First of all, through more than 20 national characteristic booths, intangible cultural heritage performances and creative flash mobs from various countries, the "International Day" created a spectacular international feast with both ornamental and experiential value under the model of "co-creation + experience + communication". The masterclasses and workshops provided participants with opportunities to learn and exchange ideas face-to-face with top artists; the series of concerts built bridges of communication with musical notes, interpreting the integration and innovation of Chinese and European art; the special lectures explored the value and future of art in the context of globalization from theoretical and historical perspectives; the fine art exhibitions intuitively presented artistic reflections and aesthetic explorations under different cultural backgrounds through visual arts.
The theme of "Art Without Borders · China-EU Symbiosis" ran through the entire festival, which was not only a tribute to the 50-year cooperation between China and the EU, but also a vision for building a closer, harmonious and symbiotic relationship between the two sides in the cultural field in the future. The event effectively promoted exchanges and cooperation between the college and the European art community as well as the broader international art circle, and enhanced the college's influence in the field of international art education.
