At 14:00 on January 22, 2026, International Department held a forum for teachers and students of 2026 Chinese Culture Advanced Training Program of Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University, Thailand in Meeting Room G-2012. Management staff and relevant persons in charge of International Department attended the meeting and had a cordial exchange with 20 Thai students from the training program.

The director of International Department first recognized and encouraged the remarkable progress made by the students over the past six months, and introduced the close cooperative relationship between Chengdu University and Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University spanning more than a decade. As the first specialized Chinese culture training program launched by International Department, students’ feedback on their study and life in Chengdu serves as vital support for the sustainable development of the project. The students were encouraged to freely share their actual situations and demands concerning studies, daily life and cultural activities in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
Study and Exchange: Active Adaptation for Joint Growth

Encouraged by the teachers, students actively shared their experiences and gains in China. PHIMPORN SOPHOPAK mentioned that when she first came to China and studied at college of Chinese & ASEAN Arts, the beautiful campus made her feel relaxed, yet she felt nervous in classes, especially worrying that language barriers would hinder classroom comprehension and teamwork. With the thoughtful help from teachers, such worries faded completely after the first month. Combining her personal experience, HIRUNYAPAWN SAIKHAO emphasized the importance of language environment for Chinese learning, and hoped that the teaching schedule could be further optimized to facilitate an in-depth understanding of Chinese culture.
Teachers from International Department spoke highly of students’ academic performance, affirming their active participation in various courses and activities, high cooperation, positive interaction and sound learning atmosphere throughout the semester. They also expected the students to keep setting a positive example and drive more international students to make progress together.
Life Experience: Integrating into Chengdu and Experiencing Local Culture
In terms of daily life, all students expressed their deep affection for Chengdu. PHURIPHAT IAMLAOR and LALITWADEE PONGYAT stated that Chengdu’s diverse delicacies, convenient transportation and laid-back urban vibe left a deep impression on them. They often visit parks in their spare time to experience local life. Another student specially mentioned various cultural experience activities organized by the college. In particular, the traditional festival celebration held last Mid-Autumn Festival with teachers and students participating together brought her a warm atmosphere different from that in Thailand and narrowed the bond between teachers and students.
Future Outlook: Continuous Learning and Spreading Positivity
At the end of the forum, person in charge of International Department put forward four expectations for the students. First, maintain enthusiasm for learning, make full use of surrounding resources in the Chinese context to assist Chinese study, and strive for better results in HSK examinations. Second, share their real study and life experiences at college of Chinese & ASEAN Arts, Chengdu University with relatives and friends in Thailand, to help more people know about Chengdu and the university. Third, cherish this unforgettable period of overseas study, and record their campus life through photos, videos, vlogs and other forms, providing references for subsequent participants of the program and more Thai friends. Fourth, raise safety awareness during holidays, and fully experience the rich cultural and linguistic charm of Chengdu on the premise of ensuring personal and property safety.
The forum built a communication platform for Thai visiting students to voice their feelings and put forward suggestions. It further strengthened the friendly cooperative ties between the two universities, and accumulated valuable experience for promoting cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries as well as international talent training programs.
