2026 Spring Chinese Language Program Admission Program

I. College Introduction

The College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts was established by the Chengdu Municipal Government to actively integrate into the national "Belt and Road" initiative, accelerate the building of a Western China Cultural and Creative Center and a world-famous cultural city. It is a fully public, comprehensive arts college with relative autonomy in its operations, operating as a non-legal entity internal unit of Chengdu University. The college's motto is "Virtue, proficiency, verity and exquisiteness." The college is committed to providing high-quality Chinese language education to help international students better integrate into study and life in China, gain an in-depth understanding of Chinese culture, and improve their Chinese proficiency. Currently, the Chinese teaching and research office of the International Department offers nearly 20 different international Chinese language courses and cultural electives, covering comprehensive Chinese, listening & speaking, reading & writing, HSK test preparation, and other course types.


II. Program Introduction

The Chinese Language Program offered by the International Department aims to provide international students with a systematic and comprehensive Chinese learning experience, dedicated to cultivating international talents who understand and are friendly towards China. Based on solidifying listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in Chinese, the curriculum organically integrates rich content on China's national conditions and culture. Our experienced teaching team will guide you in deeply exploring contemporary Chinese society, its developmental vitality, and historical context through language learning. By combining classroom teaching with social practice, you will gain the ability to use Chinese in real-life environments, understand China, enhance your language skills, and form a more comprehensive and profound understanding of the country.


III. Program Features

1. Professional Teaching Team: We have an experienced and passionate team of Chinese language teachers who will impart Chinese language knowledge through interactive and engaging teaching methods.

2. Practical Curriculum: The course content is closely integrated with daily life, study, and work scenarios, helping you master practical Chinese expression skills.

3. Cultural Experience Activities: We organize various cultural experience activities to help you better understand Chinese culture and interact with Chinese teachers and students.


IV. Admission Requirements

1. This program is open to all international students with a need to learn Chinese. Whether you are a beginner or have some foundation in Chinese, you are welcome to join.

2. Applicants should have an interest in Chinese culture, voluntarily abide by Chinese laws and regulations, and have no record of violations or crimes.

3. Applicants must be in good health.

4. Applicants must be at least 16 years old at the time of enrollment and hold a valid foreign ordinary passport.

VI. Application Documents

1. Copy of passport;

2. Copy of the highest academic certificate and notarized document;

3. Copy of a recent (within six months) physical examination report;

4. Copy of a recent (within six months) certificate of no criminal record;

5. One recent (within three months) electronic front-facing passport photo (white background);

6. If the applicant is 16 years or older but under 18 years of age, guardian materials in China must be provided: a guardian certificate signed by the applicant, the applicant’s parents, and the designated guardian in China, along with a copy of the guardian’s ID document (the guardian can be a Chinese citizen in China or a foreign national with long-term residence permits in China, designated by the applicant’s parents);

7. Personal statement: including self-introduction, academic experience, study goals, and plans in China;

8. Recent (within two months) proof of financial support: if applying for one semester, a bank deposit of RMB 15,000 or more is required; if applying for one academic year, a bank deposit of RMB 25,000 or more is required;

9. Copy of HSK certificate (if available);

10. Transfer certificate and copy of the current visa or residence permit (required if the applicant holds a visa issued by another Chinese university at the time of application);

11. Additional necessary materials may be requested.

*All above materials must be in Chinese or English. If not in these languages, please upload both the original document and its Chinese or English translation.


VII. Application Procedure

1. All applicants must complete the online application, accurately and completely filling in all required information and submitting the corresponding documents.

2. Application Period:
October 15, 2025 - December 31, 2025 (For March 2026 intake)

3. Applicants should log in to the website https://admissions.cdu.edu.cn during the specified application period and follow the instructions to register and apply for the "Chinese Language Program, College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts".
