Isaac Ormaza Vera is an Ecuadorian conductor and violinist who shares a profound and unique musical understanding through his energetic and passionated performances. Dr. Ormaza obtained his bachelor’s and master's degrees in violin performance under the guidance of Elisa Kawaguti and Wim de Moor at LUCA School of Arts in Leuven, Belgium. Furthermore, Dr. Ormaza obtained his doctor degree in Orchestral Conducting at the University of South Carolina, USA. His doctoral research looks into the symphonic works of the prolific Chinese composer, Chen Qigang.

Prize winner of the 2021 Los Angeles Conducting Workshop and Competition, Dr. Ormaza held the position of Assistant Conductor of the University of South Carolina Symphony Orchestra led by his former professor, Dr. Scott Weiss. In addition, besides having conducted in the United States, Dr. Ormaza has guest conducted and has been invited back to conduct in China and Ecuador with orchestras such as the Sichuan Symphony Orchestra, Xi’An Symphony Orchestra, Guayaquil Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Ecuador, etc.

Currently Dr. Ormaza holds the position of Associate Professor at the University of Chengdu and is the founder and Artistic Director of Sinfonietta Guayaquil.
