On May 13, the establishment ceremony of Bashu Culture International Exchange Alliance and "Li Bai Academy" was held in Jiangyou. The initiative aims to enhance the cultural influence of Bashu region including Li Bai culture, utilizing university resources in education, technology and culture to extract, disseminate and promote Jiangyou's distinctive cultural symbols, enabling international students to gain deeper understanding of Bashu culture. Six international students from College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts were invited to participate.

The ceremony commenced with the screening of "Jiangyou City Image Promotional Video," vividly showcasing the unique charm of this historic cultural city. The song-and-dance performance "Singing of Li Bai" ingeniously incorporated many of Li Bai's classic verses, perfectly blending the charm of Chinese classical music with the grace of Chinese dance, thereby inheriting and promoting Li Bai's culture through artistic expression.

Amid warm applause, representatives from various universities jointly inaugurated the Bashu Culture International Exchange Alliance, marking a new chapter in the international promotion of Bashu culture. Simultaneously, they presented the "Li Bai Academy" plaque to the Li Bai Memorial Museum. The establishment of "Li Bai Academy" will create a new platform for the research, inheritance and promotion of Li Bai's culture. Universities will fully leverage their respective strengths to jointly revitalize Li Bai's culture with contemporary relevance.

The event also featured the release of a video showcasing Jiangyou's distinctive cultural tourism routes, highlighting the city's abundant tourism resources and profound cultural heritage, while building new bridges for the dissemination of Bashu culture.

With a long and rich history, Bashu culture finds one of its most important representatives in Li Bai, whose poetic legacy continues to exert far-reaching influence. The provincial-level intangible cultural heritage inheritor of "Sichuan Chanting" presented Li Bai's classic poems including "The Moon over Mount Brow," "Listening to a Monk from Shu Playing the Lute," and "Song of the Emperor's Western Tour to Nanjing" in a distinctive chanting style. This artistic presentation perfectly blended Li Bai's poetic imagery with Jiangyou's local charm, allowing the audience to deeply appreciate the timeless appeal of Li Bai's poetry and seemingly transport them into the beautiful scenes depicted in the verses.

During the two-day event, our international student representatives fully immersed themselves in the "Jiangyou Spring Cultural Tourism Consumption Season" activities. They had the opportunity to see and taste various local cultural creative products and specialty snacks of Jiangyou.

At the lecture titled "Bashu Cultural Elements in Li Bai's Poetry," Wang Hongxia, Vice President of the China Li Bai Research Association and President of the Sichuan Li Bai Research Association, delivered an insightful interpretation of the Bashu cultural elements embedded in Li Bai's poetry. Her presentation beautifully showcased the aesthetic charm of Bashu culture to the international students.
