On May 24, 2025, the Fifth Forum on Curriculum Development and Innovation for "China Overview" Courses & Key Teacher Training Workshop was held at Fujian Normal University, co-organized by Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press and the College of Overseas Education, Fujian Normal University.
The International Department of CCAA participated in the event, with Deputy Director Wan Qun leading a delegation from the Student Affairs Office. The forum brought together educators and experts to discuss advancements in "China Overview" course design, teaching methodologies, and international education exchange.


The conference commenced with an impressive recitation performance of "The Ballad of Mulan" by international students. Following the welcome speech by Ouyang Songying, Vice President of Fujian Normal University, the proceedings delved into in-depth discussions on several key topics: the application of "China Overview (Revised Edition)", curriculum development and innovation in the new era, and AI-assisted teaching of China studies courses.
Professor Cheng Aimin from Nanjing University/Shanghai Jiao Tong University delivered a keynote address titled "Current Challenges, Strategies and Recommendations in Teaching China Overview". Four distinguished scholars from domestic universities subsequently presented their insights, covering thematic areas including: Innovative reforms in China Overview courses,Development of English-taught curriculum,AI-enabled teaching methodologies,Compilation of graded Chinese reading materials.



This conference has provided valuable experience and insights for the reform and development of our university's "China Overview" course. It is worth noting that our institution's "China Overview" course was selected in March of this year as one of the first batch of exemplary national courses for international students' education on China's national conditions.
Our college will continue to explore and research innovative models and approaches for the "China Overview" curriculum, aiming to better serve the cultivation of international students.
